Responsibilities:
-Assisting in the planning, executing and accomplishing all activities associated with the radiation protection program
-Providing radiological data analysis of area monitoring and dosimetry results
-Assessing radiological anomalies and advising on mitigating actions
-Designing and coordinating of radiation protection based projects
-Assisting in the compiling and review of required regulatory reporting commitments
-Assessing and implementation of radiation protection database improvements
-Providing guidance to the Radiation Protection Group regarding monitoring procedures, data collection, etc.
-Responding in a timely manner to situations where it may be necessary to investigate, eliminate and/or control unacceptable radiation exposure
Skills and Qualifications:
-Possess a degree in a field of science/engineering preferable
-Experience as a Health Physicist, Radiation Protection Specialist or equivalent will be given preference
-Previous experience with trending analysis and research projects
-Background in uranium mining and milling, with familiarity of radiation protection legislation
-Demonstrated competence in organizing and reporting technical data and information
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Required to work independently and respond to findings in an appropriate manner
-Strong aptitude in mathematics, physics, and database applications
-Able to work closely and co-operatively with other departments to promote a team approach
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake
-14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
