Description

Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Reports To: Operations Manager

Summary:
As a Safety Coordinator you are responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing BN & companies employee safety at work. Your main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. As a safety coordinator you will lead safety-training seminars for employees, designs effective methods of measuring safety standards in the workplace, and conduct safety inspections on a routine basis. You will train employees in safety procedures. You will design methods for appraising safety conditions in our working environments at BN & companies.

Key Responsibilities:  
    Monitor staff to evaluate if health and safety laws and protocols are being followed.
    Assess equipment and machinery to gauge if they are in safe, working order and if they are up to safety standards.
    Create plans to improve health and safety in the workplace.
    Educate staff on health and safety protocols.
    Prepare reports for management.
    Host presentations to educate staff about health and safety laws.
    Investigate accidents in the workplace to evaluate how safety measures can be improved.
    Document and communicate all work through programs and avenues provided.
    Keep proper records.
    Conduct tool box meetings & safety meetings.

Qualifications:
    A degree in safety management.
    Prior experience in safety management.
    Extensive knowledge of health and safety protocols.
    Excellent attention to detail.
    Outstanding communication skills.
    A qualification in occupational health and safety.
    Ability to prioritize and adjust as required based on competing deadlines.
