Driver / Ribfest Cook

Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ is a growing food service business with operations all over Western Canada. We are National and World BBQ Champions.
We are looking for someone to drive our Pickup or F550 and 32 festival trailer between approximately 10 events between Saskatchewan and Vancouver Island.  During the events, this person will work with our ribfest crew to prepare and serve thousands of guests per week.  Our crew spends their summer in some of the most beautiful parks in Canada.  

TITLE:  Ribfest Driver / Cook
TYPE:  Seasonal Full Time

DUTIES
1.    Rig Driver
-    Drive our truck and haul our festival trailer between events.
-    Keep daily driver logs (electronic)
-    Transport crew members between events.
-    Adhere to all safety regulations, speed limits, inspections (self and highway transport), etc.
-    Park rig at each site in prescribed spot, store rig on occasion between events for 1-3 days at a time
-    Set up and tear down (with rest of crew) at each event.

2.    Ribfest Kitchen Help
-    Receive shipments of meat & supplies
-    Lift heavy cases of meat (60-70 lbs)
-    Trim, season, slice meat
-    Preparation of side dishes
-    Cleaning of kitchen area, cooler, smokers, and trailer as required (all crew shares this responsibility)

QUALIFICATIONS
-    3+ years of professional highway transport experience
-    Mountain driving experience an asset (Alberta to Vancouver)
-    Valid commercial drivers licence (Class 1 or Heavy Trailer Endorsement  no air brakes required)
-    Clean drivers abstract (Applicants must supply Abstract to be reviewed by Prairie BBQ).   Perfect record not required.
-    Food Service experience preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION
o    To be determined
o    Vacation pay accrued at 3/52 of base pay
o    Free food on operating days, free accommodation all summer
o    Share of Tips
-    Season end bonus
o    Dependent on performance during season
o    Payable only on completion of full season
