Description

One position each Metis Region:
Northern Region 1, Northern Region 3, Easter Region 1
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate skills development training such as Rental Education Program, Basic Home Maintenance Workshops and Personal Budgeting training.
As a Systems Support team member, develop a comprehensive provincial inventory of support services available in each community/region
Develop effective and collaborative working relationships and partnerships with community agencies and stakeholder
Assist vulnerable Metis citizens in overcoming the challenges of navigating multijurisdictional human systems. This includes but not limited to housing, addictions services, social services, personal identification, mental and physical health supports, cultural supports, food security, clothing, child and family services, transportation, etc.
Assist Metis citizens who have been released from services (Justice, Health, Foster Care, etc.) in developing a plan for returning safely to their home community
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:  
Professional or lived experience navigating the multi jurisdictional systems  
Experience building relationships with community members and community agencies
Ability to communicate in Indigenous languages is an asset
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of available community resources
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of the factors which contribute to homelessness or risk of homelessness
Ability to demonstrate a compassionate, solution focused, and client centered approach
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving, and reporting skills
Microsoft Office
Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle is required
Criminal background check
Applicants must be able to work remotely in a secure location maintaining client confidentiality.
