The Instructional Coachs leadership/support will become part of an ongoing professional development process through which school leaders, classroom teachers and school teams deepen their understanding of high quality, instruction, and assessment practices to meet the learning needs of all students.
Qualifications:
Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate;
Successful teaching experience in Elementary and/or High School;
Extensive knowledge of highly effective instruction, assessment and intervention practices at various grade levels (literacy, numeracy);
Extensive practical technology skills;
Knowledge and belief in formative and summative assessment;
Knowledge of and experience in facilitating in a collaborative adult learning environment;
Knowledge of and experience in supporting Indigenous Ways of Knowing and holistic instruction and assessment as it relates to Indigenous learning models.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for professional growth for staff through collaboration, co-planning, co-teaching, and debriefing;
Incorporate effective current researched-based pedagogy;
Assist in the implementation of embedding effective differentiation strategies within the curriculum;
Support teacher planning of inclusive holistic lessons that extend learning for all students;
Work in collaboration with school teams to enhance, plan and support instruction and assessment practices;
To assist in using evidence of learning from ongoing classroom and system-based assessments to inform and guide instruction;
To support the collaborative work of Horizon School Divisions learning team under the leadership of the Superintendent of Learning.
