The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of a regional-wide student engagement strategy focused on wellness and retention. As part of the Elder-in-Residence Program and a member of the Coalition RIDE committee, the Student Engagement Coordinator works in consultation with many staff and external partners including our coalition partners, Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Learner Services, ABE, and PSE teams, as well as other college and community committees related to the principles of inclusion. Key to this position is fulfilling the obligations of grant funders who are financially supporting specific Indigenous engagement and student mental health and wellbeing activities.
Required Qualifications:
- A two-year diploma with a high level of cultural sensitivity and knowledge of Cumberland Colleges Indigenous communities and understanding of associated traditions. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated coordination experience and/or minimum of two years of experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Preference for someone who demonstrates effective practice of inclusion and who is familiar with the First Nations and Mtis communities in the Cumberland College region
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required.
