Description

Donalds Fine Foods is a family-owned business and we are a specialty meat manufacturer with facilities in British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for coordinating daily human resources activities for 2 plants including:
Providing guidance and leadership for plant managers and HR generalists.
Employee and Labour Relations
Health, Wellness & Safety
Performance Management and Talent Acquisition and Workforce planning
Employee Engagement and Communications
HR Strategy and HR Administration
Learning and Development
In addition, you will ensure that all human resources and related programs support the organizations goals, policies, and objectives within the appropriate regulations and generally accepted standards of sound human resource management practices.
Requirements:    
Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or management  a significant portion of this experience should be in a unionized manufacturing environment, with food manufacturing being ideal.
University or College education and HR Certification preferred (CPHR)
Proven effective HR leadership experience within both large and small-sized unionized organizations
Solid understanding of employee engagement and change management process
In-depth knowledge of, and experience in:
o HR management principles and employee relations
o occupational health and safety
o compensation and benefits
o recruitment and retention
o performance management
o talent acquisition and development
o foreign worker hiring and documentation ideal
Demonstrated ability to:
o maintain a high-energy level in a rapid-pace work environment
o Work collaboratively at all levels of the organization and within teams.
o Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Use excellent judgment and superior problem-solving skills within the scope of duties.
Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
