Southeast College is now accepting applications from well-qualified candidates for the position of .5FTE Finance Manager.
Typical duties and responsibilities of the Finance Manager may include, but are not limited to:
Manage the workload of the Finance department, assign work & schedule resources
Selection & supervision of staff including performance review and improvement
Be responsible for all disciplinary matters up to and including recommendation to terminate the staff members that are the supervisory responsibility of the Finance Manager
Backup of accounting clerk functions
Develop, monitor & revise processes & procedures in accounting functions to ensure efficiencies while ensuring adequate internal controls exist for the areas below:
Accounts Payable
Payroll
Accounts Receivable
Financial Systems
Reporting
Budgets
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated expertise in financial systems
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications including Microsoft Office
Demonstrated experience in supervision
Ability to work independently and prioritize work including assignment of work to others
Excellent organizational and time-management skills and ability to work to get the job done within timelines
Demonstrated strong leadership skills
Proven ability to be an effective member of a team
Effective decision making and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to accurately perform mathematical applications
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Education and Experience
A Two-year recognized diploma or equivalent or relevant two-year post-secondary training or equivalent
Minimum of two years experience in an accounting position
