Description

The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Energy Division is seeking a Research Engineer to join the Process Development Business Unit.
Accountabilities
    Develop, manage, and execute projects related to alternative energy, energy storage, microgrid systems, district heating / cooling networks and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
    Solve challenging problems related to the integration of distributed energy resources into edge-of-grid and remote grid applications. Determine and clearly communicate value propositions to a wide variety of stakeholders
    Conduct field commissioning and troubleshooting, as necessary, for power systems and SCADA communication systems
    Develop proposals, funding applications and project reports
Qualifications
    M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or engineering physics and eligible for your professional engineering (P.Eng) designation
    Minimum of five years industry experience, preferably in the areas of renewable energy and hybrid systems
    Experience in grid innovation/modernization/energy transition, specifically in the design, construction and operation of hybrid systems
    Proficient in modelling software used for efficiency, renewables and storage, such as PVSyst, RETScreen, HOT2000, WiindPro, Windographer, and HOMER
    Experience in building efficiency, district energy systems, EV charging, electrification, smart load management and hybrid system integration
Skills
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work efficiently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including clients and project teams
    Creative, innovative and holistic approach to problem solving
    Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
