Description

The Director, HABS, is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Home and Building Supplies Business Unit within the scope of our Values, Mission, and Brand with particular emphasis on service, expert advice, growth, and innovation. In this position, you will identify key opportunities and develop and implement new business strategies while creating and improving processes and procedures to improve retail operations, performance, and profitability. You will provide leadership and guidance to over 110 Home Centre Leaders and Team Members.

You are looking for a leadership opportunity in HABS and:
-You have 10+ years of relevant experience in the home and building/construction industry or retail consumer industry and 8+ years of progressive experience at a strategic, senior management level; Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) experience is considered and asset; specialized accreditation or specialization such as Estimating is considered an asset
-You have a degree in business, operations management, or a related field; an MBA would be an asset
-You have strong business acumen, including well-balanced strategic and tactical agility and understanding of the financial aspects of running of the business with a thorough understanding of operations, marketing, human resources, and administration
-You possess effective leadership skills with a strong focus on team member engagement, operations, and business processes
You are honest and trustworthy, are results orientated, and strive to be the best in the work that you do
-You possess the following skills and attributes:
Leadership and coaching expertise including solid facilitation, collaboration, influence, and relationship management
-Proven ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial reports, including budgetary guidelines, payroll, and expenditures
-Ability to create innovative solutions and implement effective change management practices
