Job Description: The Youth Care Worker (YCW) is responsible for the direct care and supervision of the residents and provides for the youths emotional and physical needs through the provision of basic parenting duties, therapeutic interventions, and the provision of a safe, nurturing, structured environment. The YCW is directly responsible to the Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. To provide supervision to residents and implement daily therapeutic activity plans and daily routines.
2. To participate with the team and resident in the establishment and implementation of individual treatment plans.

4. To dispense medications to residents according to a doctors instructions and in accordance to the agency medication policy.
5. To take residents for required medical, dental, optical, and other healthcare appointments.
6. To facilitate resident contact with family and friends according to the youths treatment plan.
7. To operate according to the agencys Code of Ethics.
8. To contribute to the development of the agencys strategic plan.
9. To provide positive role modelling to youth, to conduct themselves as a caring adult authority figure, and to make decisions in the best interest of the youth.
10. To learn and operate by the agencys philosophy, policies, and procedures.
11. To ensure timely and accurate information on a daily basis concerning the needs and behaviours of residents
Qualifications: The Youth Care Worker will have a combination of education and experience related to working with youth and will possess personal attributes that facilitate the development of trusting and caring relationships with youth. Knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and beliefs is an asset. Criminal Record Check, and valid class 5 drivers license are required.
