Description

Purpose and Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for developing designs for products and product components, as well as for creating and updating models, drawings and documentation. Each engineers position will include a combination of some of the following duties as assigned.


Job Duties
- Creation and refinement of mechanical part and assembly drawings.
- Create documentation to help convey the key aspects of a design to a client or manufacturing partner.
- Create and maintain a Bill of Materials for products.
- Create/control/maintain the release packages and design history files.
- Recommend improvements to the current design of products.
- Produce details of specifications and outline designs for products.
- Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new technologies, methods, tools, and systems.
- Other duties as required


Requirements
- Skilled in use of design software, including Inventor.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- APEGS membership
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
