Position Duties:
o Create and implement public programming and special events
o Generate effective and creative ways to enhance public visitation with tourism and heritage initiatives.
o Day-to-day operations and visitor services including but not limited to:
o museum admissions and tours
o gift shop sales
o customer service and correspondence
o providing tourism information
o campground inquiries and booking
o Aid in fundraising efforts for events and activities regarding recreation, tourism, and heritage
o Assist the Rec Manager in researching, making recommendations on, and applying for grant funding.
o Care and maintenance of the grounds, flower beds and pots, and keeping the grass trimmed around all buildings.
o Create and maintain a sanitary & welcoming environment in the tourism centre and museum with emphasis on COVID-19 protocols and protection measures.
o Ability to interact with visitors with disabilities, seniors, and children.
o General office and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
o Previous experience in heritage or recreation related fields
o A valid drivers license
o Excellent and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Strong computer proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
o Ability to problem solve in unplanned situations
o Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable sector check
