The Specialist will work with the SCPOR Coordinators, SCPOR staff and partner staff to provide support to the work of the various component areas within SCPOR and its partners, while upholding SCPORs vision, mission and core values. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Specialist will provide support to operationalize the component resources required for the Learning Health System projects, the National Intake process, and other activities.
The Specialist will work with the SCPOR Coordinators to create strong working relationships with key partners, including patient partners, health service providers, and post-secondary organizations. As the SCPOR grant is a provincial initiative, building and maintaining strong working relationships with all relevant current and future provincial stakeholders is essential.
The Specialist will have a sound working knowledge of a breadth of both health research and quality improvement approaches and methodologies in a research/health context, particularly patient-oriented research and community-based research. The Specialist will maintain and share expert knowledge of current trends in research and quality improvement methodologies by reviewing literature, attending relevant conferences/continuing education, and liaising with external organizations. The Specialist will coordinate the evaluation process across the component areas, including the development of project logic models and the measurement of outcomes.
The Specialist will contribute to National Communities of Practice, which focus on Patient Engagement, Capacity Building, Data Platform and Services, Communications, Performance and Impact Measurement, the LHS, and Indigenous Peoples. Travel may be needed and a valid drivers license is required.
