The ideal candidate should have experience in previous accounting roles, proven analytical skills, and a good grasp of audit principles. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in financial statement preparation, analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasts, and all aspects of cost and production accounting. The job also centers on evaluating internal controls, procedures and compliance, maintaining established standards of excellence throughout the company.
Duties (include but are not limited to):
Assist with preparation of month-end & year-end consolidated financial statements
Maintain and audit internal controls in all S3 business units
Audit and consolidate each groups financial information on a monthly and annual basis
Assist in the annual budget process, including P&L, cash flow, and capex budgets
Assist in due diligence efforts, specific to any M&A activities
Cash flow management, including forecasts and analysis.
Interim financial statement preparation and analysis, including monthly financial statements and weekly metrics
Cost and production accounting, including monthly standard cost variance analysis, analysis of inventory and overhead allocation
Ensure that all transactions are kept current, recorded accurately, and processed efficiently
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
Accounting designation or enrolment in CPA program, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
5+ years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Strong attention to detail
Ability to ask critical questions, verify data, and follow instructions
Proficiency with accounting software, MRP or ERP, as well as Word, Excel and Outlook
