Description

In the absence of the Branch Librarian, the Substitute Branch Librarian is responsible for providing full library service to the community they serve through the direction of the Lakeland Library Region. Complete job description available on request.

Required:
-    Grade 12 or equivalent
-    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-    Computer and keyboarding skills
-    Outgoing, energetic and service-oriented
-    Demonstrated ability to work independently
-    Ability to reach a range of shelves between 5 cm and 200 cm off the floor
-    Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (upon hire)

Preferred:
-    Experience with the circulation module of an integrated library system
-    Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 kg on a weekly basis
-    Previous library experience

Hours of work:    Casual/on-call (no guaranteed hours)

Starting wage:     $11.81 per hour per CUPE Local #3077 collective agreement
