Mental Health Therapist II (Short Term Crisis Therapist)

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is now inviting applications for a one (1) Permanent Full-Time Mental Health Therapist based out of La Ronge to provide services to the LLRIB outlying communities. This position will report to the Prevention & Recovery Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for client caseload, designing programs, documenting progress of all activities, conducting workshops and developing annual work plans.

Duties:
Provide assessment for clients;
Provide individual, group and family counseling;
Assist in crisis intervention planning for all communities under LLRIBHS;
Deliver in-service programming in LLRIB schools and communities;
Organize group wellness workshops;
Provide Trauma Recovery Therapy
Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or designate;

Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelors Degree in related field;
Masters Degree in Social Work or Masters of Education with a Major in Psychology preferred;
5 years of experience in providing therapeutic counselling and suicide risk assessments;
Certification in trauma programming & training;
Ability to work within multidisciplinary team;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to travel to outlying LLRIB communities;
Required Professional Registration Number with a Regulatory Body (i.e. Saskatchewan Social Work Association, Canadian Social Work Association, etc.)
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license;
Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset;
Ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset;
Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check and Drivers Abstract required upon hire.
