Saskatchewans Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is currently seeking a dynamic, inclusive, strategic leader for the position of Executive Director, Park Operations. This position reports to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Parks Division.

Saskatchewans provincial parks have experienced record visitation over the last several years. This growth offers an exciting opportunity for a brand new Executive Director of Operations to lead an innovative team as they continue to serve current visitors, attract new visitors, create business opportunities for local entrepreneurs and stimulate local economies, all while protecting park land for future generations to enjoy.

Our candidate of choice will be innovative and demonstrate critical thinking. They will be willing to challenge long standing practices and suggest creative solutions. They will possess superior analytical, leadership and communication skills.  Proven experience managing people is essential, as is the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with field staff and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:provide provincial leadership and direction to develop and manage programs that support provincial park recreation, protection and management goals, and which are aligned with governments overall objectives for parks; set the strategic direction for the Branch, including allocating the operating budget, policy and procedures and be accountable for the results; develop and implement strategies to reach goals and further organizational objectives; influence others in order to have a specific impact or effect; and manage multiple units of work with complex challenges.
