There is a full-time summer position from 27 June 2022 to 26 August 2022. Interested applicants, please submit your application by this service or resume in hard copy to the front desk by 5:00 p.m. on May 27, 2022.
Specific Duties:
Phase I: Scanning (approximately 200 hours)
1. Scanning item barcodes into Leap
2. Keeping track of progress and time
3. Updating the statuses of any items with exception statuses (e.g., Mending, Missing, Lost)
4. Giving Deleted or No Record items to the project supervisor for evaluation
Phase II: Reports (approximately 100 hours)
1. Searching for items on the Misplaced Item Report
2. Updating statuses of items in the Incorrect Status Report missed in Phase I
3. Submitting finished reports to project supervisor
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or the successful completion of a grade twelve general education development (GED) test
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
1. Ability to take direction and complete assigned duties, often without constant supervision; requires good time management skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment
2. Ability to consistently provide courteous and friendly public service, to handle all situations with resourcefulness and tact, and to work well under pressure
3. Familiarity with computers
4. Good verbal and written communication skills
5. Proven ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, or independently
6. Ability to complete detailed work accurately
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience or training in a library environment
2. General office and clerical work experience
3. Technical or commercial courses in office software, clerical procedures, and/or the Internet
4. Knowledge of, or background in a specific subject or topic
5. Work experience especially in public service
