The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Collaborate in the development, delivery, and monitoring of Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIPs)
Attend regular meetings with Teachers, E.A.s, and parents/guardians to share information about what is being done, and what could be done to meet the needs of students who require additional/ intensive supports
Provide direct services and resource support to identified students, as needed
Facilitate the referral process for students requiring second level professional services
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and E.A.s and provide recommendations for appropriate adaptations and instructional strategies for students
Collaborate in the scheduling of E.A.s to meet student need
Participate in extra-curricular activities
The suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Special Education or related experience;
Teaching experience at the middle years/ high school level;
Experience working with educational staff in a team environment;
Saskatchewan Professional A Teacher Certification or ability to obtain;
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills;
Must be proficient with the use of computers and any relevant educational software;
Good problem-solving ability, and able to adapt quickly;
Valid Class 5 Drivers License;
Must be able to provide a satisfactory Drivers Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening;
