Description

JHSS has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Program Coordinator in our SILP Program
Under the supervision of the Manager of Community Outreach Programs, or designate, the Assistant Program Coordinator will provide daily support for program operations and case management of the John Howard Societys Social Programs, working within the Youth Centered Model Continuum of Care.

Duties:
Daily oversight of the home/program
Lead in case planning and case management for youth in the home
Complete administrative tasks
Provide support and guidance to residential caseworkers as needed
Role model and encourage independent problem solving and decision making skills
Adhere to policies and procedures laid out in the Residential Services
Report all accidents, injuries, and illness to Manager of Outreach Programs and complete all necessary reports
Report all incidents of suspected child abuse to appropriate authorities and follow all organization protocols.
Qualifications:
University Bachelors diploma/degree in the Human Services. 2+ years work experience in a residential setting with experience in intensive case management
First Aid and CPR, Suicide Intervention training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Food Safety training
A valid drivers license
Clean Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check
Knowledge:
Some familiarity with the problems and characteristics of disadvantaged persons
A working knowledge and experience working in a residential facility for at risk youth
Skills:
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
Exceptional writing and case management skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships with youth, other staff, clients, agencies
Demonstrated skills in providing supervision to youth
