The Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Associationsvision is a world where youth have the confidence and skills to engage in reasoned discourse on complex and difficult issues. Our mission is to advance the speech arts among Saskatchewan youth byprovidingelocutionand debate programs and resources.SEDA hostscompetitive tournaments, helpsstart speech and debate clubs,providedresources to teachers and coaches, and teachesdebate and speech skills to students in grades 5-12.
Responsibilities and Duties
-Implement program curriculum
-Manage, support, supervise, and mentor camp instructors
-Maintain positive, professional, and constructive relationship with all campers and staff members
-Maintain a safe camp environment
-Prepare for classes with your camp instructors using SEDA lesson plans.
-Lead andfacilitateworkshops
-Teachpublic speakingand debateskills
-Providean enjoyable and educational experience for allparticipants
-Participate in feedback and reportingprocesses
Qualifications and Skills
-Minimumgrade 12education
-1-3 years of camp leadership experience or a comparative leadership role with children.
-Team player with leadership skills/experience
-Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills
-Reliable andorganized
-Speech or debate experience anasset
-Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check
