Job description
Reporting to the HR Manager, we currently have an opening for Recruitment & Safety Coordinator.
1. Recruiting and Administrative
- work in collaboration with all managers regarding staff resourcing needs
- post ads as required for all open positions in the shop and office
- screen potential new employees, booking and participating in interviews with Team Leaders
- new employee orientation
- Coverage for HR Manager for sick days and vacation
2. Safety
- Ownership of the safety systems
- Onsite safety enforcement at all Saskatoon facilities
- Audit and updates to SMS system
- Regular audits of safety requirements on shop floor
- Ensure sign-off of employees on job hazard analysis
- Coordinate and chair OH&S meetings
- Incident reporting and investigation
- Administrating WCB claims
- Organizing return to work program and modified duties for WCB claims
- Monthly reporting to management of safety metrics
- Responsible for identifying training needs, and maintaining safety training
- Ensure Team Leads are provided with internal and external safety training requirements
Qualifications:
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have experience handling multiple projects
Must have prior recruiting experience and understand the recruitment cycle
Must possess a strong interest in workplace safety
Must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to handle changing demands
