Description

THE POSITION
The Water Quality Monitor is part of a multi-disciplinary health team, which aims to monitor the safety and quality of water systems that serve the 7 member First Nations of the Saskatoon Tribal Council area.  The Water Quality Monitor will work under the direct supervision of the Environmental Public Health Program Manager (EPHPM) on the day-to-day operation of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Collect chlorine residual and bacterial samples according to established, appropriate water monitoring points in communities and line with established frequency requirements.
-Enter water sampling data and testing results into the STC Water Quality Base, via remote computer access while in communities and when in the office; generate the required weekly reports and ensure their distribution according to established procedures.
-Conduct water testing following established procedures and protocols on all samples obtained.  Generate and ensure distribution of results according to the standardized STC Water Sampling, Testing and Reporting Procedures.
-Collect samples from sites upon request/referral by member First Nation Staff.
-Collect and transport samples to the designated testing lab for chemical analysis according to required sampling frequencies; ensure required database site identifier codes are used to allow results to be collected and stored in the chemical results database.
