Description

The primary focus for the Cree Culture & Language Kindergarten Teacher is the planning, preparation, teaching, and assessment of the Cree program to achieve specific learner cross curricular outcomes through experiential and play based learning.  
The main goal of the program is to engage learners and optimize their experiences of the Cree Culture, Lifestyle & Language.
The selected candidate will promote the educational well-being of each learner in their classroom, is responsible for planning and instruction, and the overall care and guidance of their learners. They will collaborate with other Cree Early Learning programs and be responsible for setting up a learning environment that will contribute to the wholistic development (spiritual, emotional, physical and mental domains) of each of their learners.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Teacher will have a strong nehiyaw foundation and exhibit a well-balanced lifestyle.
Knowledge of Cree Language (Y Dialect) and Culture is an asset, Living Sky School Division will support the successful candidate in obtaining any training needed to be successful.
The Teacher will have a willingness to learn, and a high commitment to the benefits of education, respect for confidentiality, knowledge of community, and nehiyaw culture (including land-based practices).  
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the development, progress, and inclusion of learners with varying needs.  
Have knowledge and experience in Early Learning, curriculum planning, and program development and/or implementation of programs.  
The candidate will have strong educational and cultural leadership skills evidenced by successful accomplishments, as well as be punctual, dependable and flexible.
Bachelor of Education & applicants must hold a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.  
Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
