Description

To support youth by collaborating with Integrated Family Service Worker to ensure all eligible youth are successful in their independence. The Post Majority Program Worker is under the supervision of the Post Majority Care Coordinator. This program will be offered to youth, who are aged 16 and up to prepare for a transition out of care. The Post Majority Program Worker will provide a range of services within the youths eco-system/community. Knowledge of the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act and the Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act. The ISC Desk Book, Youth in Transition Care Handbook, Children Services Manual, Child Protection Services Manual, the Provincial Child Abuse Protocol (Duty to Report), knowledge of Bill-C92.
Be knowledgeable of the 14 First Nations with Yellow Thunderbird Lodge CFS. Possess experience with engaging youth and facilitating groups / workshops. Should have an understanding of the developmental stages for this demographic and learning styles of youth.
Exceptional negotiating, advocating, problem solving and mediation and conflict resolution skills in resolving issues at many different levels (interpersonal and systemic through gaining the co-operation and commitment of others)
Knowledge of community services and consultation processes, including an ability to interact positively, establish and maintain working relationships. Excellent public relation skills in communication, e.g., verbal, written, computer knowledge. Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Ability to provide leadership through encouragement, collaborations and the promotion of healthy, positive working relationships with the objective of achieving youth, team and organization goals.
