Parkland College is currently seeking an Applied Research Coordinator for the Keeseekoose Smart Farm project. This is a Full-Time, Term Position starting as soon as possible and ending March 31, 2024 for 262 days per year.
The Opportunity:
This exciting new opportunity is the Keeseekoose Smart Farm! Under the supervision of the Applied Research Coordinator, this position would be responsible for developing agriculture technology involving Keeseekoose Smart Farm as a living lab. This position will also have the opportunity to work in all aspects of digital agriculture while working with a range of businesses. This Coordinator would also be responsible for supervising student research assistants in standalone and in-class projects.
Requirements:
-The minimum educational qualification for this position is a relevant post graduate degree. This education would provide knowledge in research, ag tech, project design, and proposal and report writing.
-The minimum amount of practical, related experience required to perform the duties of this position is more than two years of research with ag tech. This experience would provide skills necessary to design and coordinate a research project and supervise staff.
-Demonstrated experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
