Description

Applications are invited for up to two (2) non-permanent positions of Recreation Cashier in the Community Services Department. These part-time positions will be located at the Alfred Jenkins Field House with hours available on a year-round basis. The Recreation Cashier is responsible for cashiering and providing customer service at the facility.

Applicants must be available to work evenings and on weekends as these will be the primary shifts we need to fill.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Handle cash including but not limited to receipting, depositing, balancing, counting and miscellaneous sales.
Communicate with the public on facility rules, policies, and regulations to enhance public knowledge and safety and ensure adherence.
Attend to all inquiries through personal, telephone and written communication, this may also include use of public address system
Ensure that admission policies related to recreation facilities are adhered to.
Register the public for programs.
Ensure work and program areas are maintained in a neat, tidy and safe manner and report facility deficiencies.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or Grade 10 if a continuing full-time student.
First Aid and CPR C Certification from a recognized institution is an asset
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to handle cash and balance funds received.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good organizational skills.
Must be willing to work shifts including evenings and weekends as required.
