Vendasta is seeking a UX Engineer. We have ambitious goals over the next couple of years and we are building one of the best design teams in Canada to do so. One big goal over this next year is to unify our platform experience. We are looking to hire a UX Engineer to help make this a reality. If you like diving deep, working in the details, using design systems and making delightful user experiences then you are exactly who we are looking for. What is a UX Engineer? To put it simply, a UX engineer is a designer who can code, or a developer who can design.

The position is remote-friendly (anywhere in Canada), with the option to work from our office in Saskatoon.

Responsibilities:
Work across teams or even cross-divisionally to implement UI on design-heavy projects
Help break down complex user problems into simple and easy to use prototypes
Be involved in designing and implementing features from ideation to delivery to adoption
To ensure a consistent and cohesive experience for our users by leveraging our design framework
Pair and mentor other developers looking to build their front end skills
Identify and prioritize design debt and contribute to our design organization goals

Qualifications:
5+ years product design experience, ideally in cross-functional teams
5+ years of front end software development experience (HTML, CSS, and Javascript)
Excellent, highly creative communication and critical thinking skills
Portfolio showing deep product understanding and craftsmanship, both UI and UX
Proficiency with Figma or Adobe XD
Solid understanding of cross-platform design systems and technical frameworks
Motivated by feedback, but able to take criticism
Excellent collaboration skills across disciplines

Assets:
Experience with Angular and Typescript
Experience with Git and Github
Experience with Agile software development practices at SaaS companies
Experience building and maintaining a design framework
