The Ministry of Justice has an exciting career opportunity for an accountable, responsible, bilingual professional as Deputy Local Registrar, Court of Queen's Bench. We are seeking an exceptional candidate to be part of our team in the Saskatoon Court of Queen's Bench, who will be committed to the pursuit of excellence and must be fluently bilingual in French and English. A French proficiency exercise will be a part of the assessment process for all candidates under consideration.

Our Ministry is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities, and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government.

As Deputy Local Registrar, you will uphold the dignity of the court by providing support and assistance to the Court of Queen's Bench Judges. Using your superior communication and interpersonal skills, you will assist the legal profession, legal secretaries, court runners and the general public when working in the Registry Office.

You will receive, process and register legal documents for legal cases such as family, civil, criminal and estate litigations, ensuring all documentation comply with the Rules of Court for Saskatchewan, various federal and provincial Statutes and the Canadian Criminal Code.

As a confident professional, you will be responsible for convening and adjourning court. You will maintain accurate court records, mark exhibits, swear in witnesses and operate digital recording equipment. You will also prepare documents such as exhibit lists, hearing fee sheets, digital log notes, judge's orders and decisions. In criminal matters, you will arraign the accused and take pleas and empanel the jury. Following court, you will be responsible for the preparation, approval and distribution of a variety of post court documents, ensuring legislative compliance.
