Description

Workforce Planning and Employment Strategies is a Community of Expertise (CoE) in part of an overall partnership model created to provide superior strategic cross-functional advice, analysis, support, decision making and resolution on a range of workforce planning and employment related matters. This role functions within a complex, multi-site, multi-disciplinary organization with programs/services delivered in urban/rural setting and 7 different collective agreements. He/she operates within a constantly changing environment as a result of provincialization, re-alignment of services, re-organization of client care groups and departments, changing demographics, nature of labour law and increasing demand for services. Must be cognizant of provincial and national recruitment issues, work place cultures, organizational goals and plans, corporate direction and the interdependency of the services that make up the SHA. Provides guidance and decision making/support to HR Business Partners and business unit leaders on provincial and/or complex workforce planning & employment issues, which will often have provincial implications (i.e. changes to legislation/licensing, Collective Bargaining Agreements, Ministry of Health directives, provincial recruitment challenges, selection and/or salary inquiries). Advanced knowledge is required in order to provide accurate and timely instruction and decision making on a day-to-day basis. Decisions and advice of the Specialist can have a significant impact provincially including prevention or cause of possible grievances, consistency of interpretation and practice, provincial strategic planning and the development of effective workforce and employment policies/procedures.
Qualifications: Licensed and in good standing with professional assoc. and/or regulatory body, if applicable. Undergraduate degree or diploma in Commerce/Business Admin/HR or equivalent combination of education and experience. Travel within the province of Saskatchewan.
