Our teams are growing. Fast Genetics is currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a permanent full-time Maintenance Technician position at our Manitou Barn. Manitou Barn is located 18 minutes northeast of Watrous or 1.5 hours from Saskatoon. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate would ideally live in the surrounding communities. Fast Genetics also #sksupportsukraine and encourages those that match the requirements below to apply.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions:
-Work with the Maintenace Manager to prioritize work order completion based on urgency and work with the Barn Manager to ensure the provisions of safe, timely, and efficient service,
-Complete routine and preventative maintenance and respond to calls on a variety of equipment ranging from  heating, ventilation and plumbing, welding, carpentry, and troubleshooting several assets,
-Work outside and inside the production facility,
-Adhere to all SOPs, biosecurity, and health and safety,
-Ensure proper operations and maintenance of all barn equipment,
-Respond to ER situations and work on an on-call rotation, as required, for after hour call-outs,
-Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Effective time management with a clear focus to attain results,
- Able to manage priorities and solve problems,
- Self-motivated and reliable,
- Strong troubleshooting skills,
- Demonstrates a strong technical sense and understanding of equipment operations and maintenance,
- 3+ years of related experience,
- Class 5 drivers license,
- Shares in Fast Genetics core values.
