3 LONG-HAUL TRUCK DRIVERS

Employer: S.K TRANSPORTATION INC.

Title of position: Long-Haul Truck Driver

No. of positions: 3

Wages: $26.00/hr for 50 hours per week (Overtime after 50 hrs/week)

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent, year-round work

Area of Service: Canada & USA

Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible

Job Description for the position of Long-Haul Truck Driver at S.K Transportation Inc. is as:

    Operate and drive as solo/team driver; Reefer, Dry Van and/or Flatbed trucks to transport produce, goods and materials to and from BC to all provinces in Canada and in the USA.
    Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
    Perform pre-trip, on-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals, brakes, cold storage etc.
    Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
    Obtain special permits and other documents on the US border; required to transport cargo on international routes.
    Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption.
    Administer bills of lading and maintain log books manually or electronically.
    Communicate with the dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices & onboard computers.

Skills and Experience requirement:

    Drivers License - Class 1 or A, Air Brake Endorsement is required.
    Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is an asset, will provide training, if needed.
    Basic knowledge of English language is preferred.
    Must be available to work early morning, in evening, at night and during weekend.
    Heavy lifting may be required; is physically demanding; sitting for long hours and attention to detail is required.
    Completion of Secondary Education is an asset.
