Job Description: Reporting to the Manager for Primary Health Care, Saskatoon Speech-Language Pathology, the Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the prevention, identification, diagnosis and rehabilitation of preschool children (birth to school entry) with communication disorders/delays in the Saskatchewan Health Authority - Rural Saskatoon service area.
Required Qualifications

Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (SASLPA)
Valid drivers license and the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate preventive and therapeutic programs
Knowledge of intervention programs and strategies at the individual and group levels
Highly developed  skills in observing and interpreting non-verbal cues of the child and family resulting in adjustments to program and interpersonal approach during the assessment or consultation process
Highly developed organizational and multi-tasking skills
Basic understanding of computer software and basic keyboard skills
Ability to carry, load and unload equipment and supplies
Knowledge of the needs of the preschool child and the social and environmental factors which influence communication development
Knowledge of the methods of assessment for preschool communication development
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients, parents, health professionals, other agencies, and community groups in a positive manner
