Description

Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, performs a variety of custodial duties within the Regina Police Service buildings.
(1)    Cleans the detention block, cells and all other areas within the Detention Facility.
(2)    Cleans washrooms, locker rooms and shower areas.
(3)    Washes walls and cleans interior windows and vacuums walk-off mats and chairs, as required.
(4)    Cleans toilets, counter tops, dusts desks, pictures, ledges, whiteboards, etc.
(5)    Vacuums floor areas.
(6)    Removes garbage and shredded paper.
(7)    Cleans display cases, cleans water fountains and emergency fire units and dusts ceiling lights.
(8)    Washes floors in washrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells and lobbies.
(9)    Performs carpet cleaning.
(10)    Plans and completes weekly, monthly and quarterly cleaning schedule routines.
(11)    Other related duties as required.

Competencies:
(1)    Must have 12 or Grade 12 equivalent.
(2)    Must possess the physical strength, mobility and flexibility to perform the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
(3)    Previous office cleaning experience and the ability to carry out cleaning routines and procedures, mix and handle cleaning products, operate equipment, adhere to product safety data sheets and safe working requirements.
(4)    Completion of WHMIS training.
(5)    Must be willing to work shifts on a rotating basis (days, evenings, weekends and holidays) and be subject to call-out when required.
