JOB SUMMARY:
The Energy Management System (EMS) Operations team is responsible for the full technology stack of one of SaskPowers most critical operational systems. The availability and integrity of the EMS is vital to the safe and reliable operation of Saskatchewans power grid.
The ideal candidate for this role has a solid understanding of electric power systems and has experience in engineering SCADA and/or Industrial Control Systems. Experience with technology systems including networks, servers, operating systems and cyber security systems will also be very beneficial. You have a passion for learning, innovation, and continual improvement. And above all, you know how to work in a team environment, collaborating with your peers to achieve results. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Computer or Software.
Professional Engineering Designation P.Eng.
A minimum of six (6) years post P. Eng. relevant experience that includes:
Knowledge in SCADA, Distributed Control Systems, or similar operational technologies is desired
Knowledge of SCADA and automation protocols is desired (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, etc.)
Knowledge of SCADA system elements is desired (RTU, HMI, Historian, etc.)
Knowledge of electric power systems is desired
Knowledge of scripting and programming is an asset (Perl, Python, Java, C++ etc.)
Knowledge of technology applications and infrastructures is an asset (Networks, Servers, Storage, Database, etc.)
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards/frameworks is an asset (NERC CIP, NIST CSF, etc.)
