Description

We need your help! Are you experienced in working with children or youth? Able to take initiative and work as part of a great team? If so we would love to hear from you.

1-1 Support: Childcare Worker, In Home Support Program

As the 1-1 Support Childcare Worker your role is to provide direct support to the child or youth. This would be achieved by being able to create a consistent, dependable, and steady relationship with the child or youth. With being able to communicate clearly and consistently with the Program Coordinator.  

Responsibilities

    1-1 support towards the child or youth
    Promote the child or youth through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others
    Organize and participate in recreational activities including outside play or structured developmental activities in the community
    Involve the child or youth on deciding how to spend time together
    Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the community service providers working with the child or youth
    Support the emotional and social development of children and youth
    Identify any signs of a childs emotional or developmental challenges and discuss with the SFFA Program Coordinator  

Education

    Minimum High School Diploma; Post Secondary education in early childhood education is considered an asset
Experience
    Must be 18 years of age or older
    1 years of relevant childcare experience in addition to education
    Criminal Record Check inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check
    Valid Drivers License with reliable transportation
