Above and Beyond Autism Consulting Services (ABACS) enhances the lives of learners with autism by providing an enriching and positive environment that supports each individual to reach their full potential. ABACS strives to be leaders in the delivery of evidence-based services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) while providing a fun, safe, nurturing program that meets each child's individual needs.
ABACS currently has exciting and rewarding opportunities in the role of Instructor Therapist (IT). In this position, you will be working in a centre-based setting, directly with children with autism one-to-one (and occasionally in small groups) delivering individualized, specific programming to every child. Paid, on-site training is provided.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct 1-to-1 service delivery
- Prepare programming materials
- Collect data, monitor learner progress
- Daily communication with parents/guardians
- Successfully complete the mandatory training requirements
Qualifications:
- Hold or be working towards a degree, diploma/certificate in a related field such as Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Education, Kinesiology, Social Work, etc.
- Must be outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, dependable, possess strong organizational skills and be ready for a challenge
- Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Start Date: July/August 2022
Hours: Must be able to commit to hours within the centre's hours of operation
ABACS is open Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. The successful applicant must be available to work within these hours.
