ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete pre-load and pre-departure inspections for railcars as required.
Load rail cars with crude oil, following all safety procedures and ensuring the rail car is properly sealed and ready for transport.
Assist with the movement and placement of rail cars on site.
Assists in the maintenance of the terminal Records and tracks required maintenance and planned repairs/upgrades in the MAR
Assist in completing TRAs and Work Permits
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety equipment and maintenance work as assigned
Yard maintenance
Performs routine maintenance on equipment and machinery pertaining to the work
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Grade 12
Experience in the oil industry and/or rail experience an asset
Knowledge of the practices, methods, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the performance of maintenance work
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, Confined Space Entry, First Aid
COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES
Mechanically inclined
Previous experience in oil and gas industry, transloading and/or dealing with railway or transportation companies is an asset
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage relationships internally and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and the general use of computers
