Reporting to the Chair of Adult Basic Education and Essential Services this position will coordinate the Economic Recovery Work Placement Project funded by the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. The position will require the coordination of workshops for employers and potential candidates in a variety of sectors and communities throughout the region. The goal is to match employers with unemployed and under-employed participants, throughout the region, in subsidized work placements, leading to long term employment in sectors currently facing employee shortfalls.
Working with Cumberland College, Northeast Newcomer Services, and local employers, the Coordinator will set up workshops and employment opportunities throughout the region. A total of 25 placements are expected to be completed by January 2023.
The Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of the budget and the submission of paperwork to ensure that employers are reimbursed for eligible employment expenses as per the ICT agreement.
The program will require a flexible schedule, more hours per week will be required in the initial months to meet with employers and clients and set up workshops and placements. All placements should be started no later than September 1, 2022. The remaining months will require the collection and submission of employer payroll information to the College accounting department, and job coaching of placements to create the most successful experience possible for both employees and employers.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in business or related educational program
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required.
