Description

Function: Under the direct control of the Town Foreman, a Facility Operator shall carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 education or equivalent
2. Valid Class 5 drivers license
3. Physically fit
4. Mechanically inclined
5. Must be available to work flexible hours during both Arena Season and summer for Transfer station.
6. Ability to operate or learn to operate motorized mechanical equipment
Responsibilities:
1. Sweeping and mopping the floors, keeping the facility clean and clear of potential tripping and slipping hazards.
2. Stocking the bathrooms with paper towel, soap and toilet paper.
3. Keeping the washrooms and dressing rooms clean, including the floors and garbages.
4. Keeping the sidewalk and entrance area of the arena clear, particularly in the winter months snow must be kept clear from the entrance of the facility.
5. General operation of the Zamboni and ice maintenance.
6. Customer service- Ensuring the basic needs of the facility patrons are meet, if situations arise that require further attention the Arena Operator must contact the Facility Manager to handle the situation.
7. Regular maintenance of Towns parks and facilities during the summer months, including but not limited to mowing, tree pruning, tending to flowers and road maintenance.
8. Maintain efficient and proper use of transfer station facilities.
9. Operation, maintenance, and minor repair of light motor vehicles and light motorized mechanical equipment.
10. Heavy manual labour.
11. Other tasks as assigned to provide public works service to the community.
