Responsible for the management of the Community & Cultural Development Branch within the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, including operational and program planning, stakeholder relationship management, financial management and people leadership.
Mandate includes responsibility for providing leadership and direction to the delivery of services in the areas of Cultural Development, Community Investments and Community Capacity Building portfolios. This responsibility includes but is not limited to cultural planning, growth and management of the civic art and cultural collections, activation of public spaces, public realm projects, support for community associations and capacity building services, oversight for cultural facilities, spaces and programs, and management of the Citys community investment grants program. This involves strategic planning and direction, partnerships, resourcing and budgeting for the branch, as well as working with stakeholders and user groups to determine needs and translate needs into services.
As a member of the Departments management team, leads and/or participates in Department or City-wide projects and special initiatives.
