Keep track of cargo, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Maintain log books, either manually or electronically, and administer bills of lading.
Using communication devices and onboard computers, communicate with the dispatcher, other drivers, and clients.
Reporting any issues or delivery confirmations to the Supervisor
To transport goods and supplies over long distances, operate and drive principally tractor-trailers, long-combination vehicles, and straight-body trucks.
Plan the logistics of the journey and secure the papers you'll need to transport items.
Pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals, brakes, and cold storage are all recommended.
Drive and Operate tractor-trailer, long haul, and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg for transportation of goods over a long distance.
