Work in the Transit Fleet garage involves maintenance and overhaul of bus engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspensions, steering, air conditioning and all auxiliary equipment, including electrical components. Due to the high degree of impact
Transit Fleet operation has on the delivery of transit services, this shop operates a 7-day per week shift. Our hard working & valued employees are guaranteed to have two consecutive weekends off, which helps to maintain a healthy and positive work/life balance.
The successful candidate will have:
Journeyperson's Certificate in the Truck & Transport Trade or Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade or Agriculture
Machinery Technician certificate
two (2) years trade experience
class 1A driver's license (or ability to obtain)
a standard set of hand tools

Special Note for Apprentices
If we are unable to secure a qualified Journeyperson, the City may consider
Apprentices at the 2nd, 3rd & 4th level. Apprentices will be supported in completing the trade certification program.
The City of Regina Apprentice Program offers tuition reimbursement & a paid leave of absence of
95% of salary to attend each level of trade school.
Working/Other Conditions
Must have or be able to obtain a Class 1A License.
Hourly Salary: $37.73 - $39.96 (2021 Rates) Includes $6.00/hr Market Supplement)
Apprentice Rates (2021 Rates):
1st year: $30.21/hr
2nd year: $31.71/hr (Includes $1.50/hr Market Supplement)
3rd year: $33.21/hr (Includes $3.00/hr Market Supplement)
4th year: $34.71/hr (Includes $4.50/hr Market Supplement)
