Description

Cameco is looking for a well-rounded and motivated individual to join our mine engineering team at the McArthur River Operation in northern Saskatchewan. Responsibilities will also include ensuring drawing standards are consistently applied as well as the continued organization and proper filing of drawings and associated documents.

In this role, you will bring strong experience in drafting and design of underground development and construction layouts.  In support of these activities, you will be responsible in keeping lateral and vertical mine development and production data up-to-date including Asbuilt layers from survey (including CMS data), design layers from others (long-range planning, geology) and center lines and triangulations. You will draft and design:
- Development instructions (i.e. development driving layouts and standards)
- Construction instructions for sumps, electrical bays, refuge stations, ventilation bulkheads, floor pours, production chambers, doors
- Drilling instructions for probe and grout covers, service holes, drain holes
- Level prints for rolling 3-month plan
- Budget development prints
- Regulatory submission prints

Requirements of the position:
- Technical diploma in mining or related field
- A minimum of five years of technical and drafting experience in an underground mining environment
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Highly proficient in MS Office and 3D design software (Vulcan/AutoCAD/Deswik), Good 3D visualization skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain a good communication network with all stakeholders

Assets:
- Experience in surveying, scheduling, geotechnical monitoring, and ventilation
- Familiarity with diamond drilling and raisebore drilling
