Our Saskatoon, SK office is currently seeking an experienced lead Building Automation Service Technician to join our growing Service Division.
Duties & Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain direct digital controls (DDC) equipment as part of the broader Black & McDonald service offering
Prepare/submit all necessary digital time entry, detailed service reports, etc. and ensure timely submission
Ability to communicate and build relationships with clients
Assist in preparation of job estimates and proposal submissions
Support our DDC group with developing sequences of operation logic and controller programming
Ability to interpret shop drawings (pre-installation) and as-built documentation (post-installation)
Experience in commissioning or re-commissioning processes (functionality testing, calibration, documentation)
Requisition of materials and supplies, as required
Ensure safe working conditions are enforced and strictly adhered to in accordance to company policy
Education & Skill Requirements
Current apprenticeship or journeyperson certification (HVAC/Instrumentation or related) would be considered an asset to this role.
Commercial controls experience
An in-depth technical understanding of control systems, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), and other building automation, as well as competency to troubleshoot and repair these systems.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of specific controls systems would be an asset (e.g. Johnson Controls, Distech, Reliable Controls)
Experience with BACnet & general networking protocols
