Description

As a Municipal Planner, your role is to assist with a variety of functions, depending on the need.  This will include duties such as assisting with the following:
- upholding Zoning Bylaw,
- adhering to Official Community Plan,
- advising council on land use and development planning,
- subdivision applications,
-zoning amendments,
-servicing agreements and development permit applications  

This position will work closely with local developers and the Community Planning Branch of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs; the subdivision approving authority for the Municipalities.

Interested applicants should have the following:
Graduating with a bachelor degree in Regional and Urban Planning, or a related degree.  A combination of applicable education and experience may be considered.
At least 1 year experience working on projects related to planning
Advanced public relations and written/oral communication skills are required.
Working towards a membership in the SPPI is preferred.
Must be able to commute to our office in Turtleford, SK so must relocate this is not a remote position

This includes working with developers, the public, staff and regulatory bodies to ensure consistent and timely communication. Develop strategies to promote community development and efficient land use consistent with community goals. This includes development of new policies and bylaw regulations related to land use, as well as statutory and non-statutory plans and other Municipal Planning documents.
