The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) was founded in 1975 with a mandate that includes researching, designing, building and testing technology in the agriculture, mining and transportation industries.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, and, where applicable, under the direction of the Controller, the incumbent provides accounting and administrative services for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibility is to support timely and accurate flow of business information ensuring financial risks related to fraud and errors are minimized. The following are the general duties of the position but are not inclusive of all tasks that may be required:
Administrative:
- Support the CEO and Director of Finance in helping make the organization operate efficiently while also helping establish a productive, safe, happy, and healthy work environment
- Responsible for all shipping and receiving
- Collect and distribute mail
- Welcome visitors, clients, other VIPs to our office both in person and over the phone
Accounting:
- Perform accounts payable functions including purchase order, invoice processing, and cheque preparation
- Prepare deposits and deliver to bank
- Assist with account and bank reconciliations, including inventory
- Assist with month and year end procedures
- Coordinate timely payment of accounts payable
- Validate that all visa and expense reports are completed and approved in a timely manner
- Support the Controller with banking needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Desire to succeed individually but also see merit being part of a great team in an office setting
- Knowledge working with SAGE or other accounting programs will be beneficial
- General knowledge - Microsoft Office
Credentials and Experience:
- Ideally 1-2 years of relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
