SUMMARY
Grain Receiving & Cleaning Operators receive, sample, weigh, grade, unload, and document grain deliveries. The operator also establishes strategies to efficiently clean the grain using grain cleaning equipment which includes drags, legs (elevators), air-screen machines, indents, gravities, graders, and destoners. In addition to these duties, this operator cleans grain spills, maintains a clean workspace, assists in maintenance and repair activities, and general facility housekeeping along with other duties as assigned.
Normal shifts are eight (8) hours per day weekdays starting at either 7 or 8 am. Extended hours and/or shift work could be required from time to time. Overtime remuneration is 1.5 times the regular wage plus $2.00 per hour meal premium.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating cleaning equipment
Inspect, document and prepare samples for inbound and outbound loads
General housekeeping
Operate and maintain all aspects of the bulk truck loading system; including drag conveyors and bucket elevators
Evaluate and determine product quality to ensure grain quality meets or exceeds the quality requirements.
Document tasks completed
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRMENTS
Grain cleaning experience
Valid drivers license
Mechanical ability to operate and maintain equipment
Problem solving skills (ie: troubleshooting) using logic
Grain grading as per the Canadian Grain Commission
Forklift / heavy equipment operation experience
Comprehensive knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting when required,
Positive work ethic
Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred
Good eye sight and color perception
ASSETS
Grain farm or agriculture experience
Welding/fabrication experience
Power Engineering Certificate; Fireman or greater
Computer aptitude
HACCP / Food Safety experience
Class 1 Driving experience
