Description

This role is perfect for an independent worker who is able to drive cross-border to transport product  to and from Vendors, retail locations and distribution centers in the USA.

Compensation:
Delivery, pickup and inspections: $25
Mileage of $.60 for single w/ $.01 safety bonus
Mileage of $.70 for teams w/ $.02 safety bonus

Duties:
Pre-trip and post trip inspection of truck/trailer
Connect/disconnect truck and trailer; fuel truck and trailer
Deliver trailers of product to destinations throughout USA and pick up product for return to Canada
Assist with unloading of trailer as required
Care and control of equipment and load

Requirements:
Hold a current, valid Commercial Drivers license meeting the requirements of 49 C.F.R. Part 383
2 years experience with 53 trailers
Manual dexterity to pull pins, unhook airlines, etc
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to stand, walk and move product up to 1 hour
Authorized to work in Canada. If permanent resident or temporary foreign worker: PR card or passport must be from a country that participates in the Visa Waiver program and must have a current valid passport of home country
Must be eligible for admission to the USA (i.e. clear criminal background check, clear drug and alcohol record or other grounds under section 212 of the Immigration and Naturalization Act)
Compliance with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy, requiring pre-employment and random tests through employment
Holder of a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card or eligible to obtain FAST card
Clear driving record and abstract
Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Ability to communicate in English, written and spoken
Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
